Stamp Set:  Sweet Cupcake

Paper:  Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Thick Whisper White, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer

Ink: Tip Top Taupe, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette

Embellishments:  Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter

Tools:  Cupcake Cutout Framelits, Layering Oval Framelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot Die Brush, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Multi-Purpose Glue, Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals

It's All in the Details

• The thing that makes this card fabulous is all the LAYERS!
• For the cutout "Sweet"-I cut the word "Sweet" out of each of the 6 colors used and then layered them together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to stick them together.
• After I had all of them adhered together, I then put a layer of glue (again with the Fine Tip Glue Pen) on top to make it shiny. This is so much fun and adds a little extra oomph!
• Add a little glitter on the cupcake to make it extra yummy and sparkly because who doesn't love glitter!

Enamel Shapes...how the heck?

Enamel shapes....love them-hate them!

• Love how they can add a pop of color and dimension to a card.
• Hate how they end up all mixed up everywhere.

Well, have I got an idea for you!

Actually I saw another demonstrator (Linda Cullen) do this and I thought to myself, "Self, this is a great idea. You should do this!"

So I did. And now I want to share it with you because I'm certain you will love it as much as I do.

But first...at look at the "Before" pictures.

This first pic is before I opened them. When they arrive from Stampin' Up! they are in these pretty little packages all neat and tidy.

All neat in their packages...but not for long

 And then I opened them...

I tried to be very careful but this is what happened. Yuck!

Attempt to neatly open package...FAIL!

 

And now the moment you've all been waiting for...the "AFTER" pictures!

• Wondering how I attached the ribbons underneath the cupcake layer?
• I quite simple folded my piece of ribbons in half and stapled them to the Island Indigo layer.
• Yes, you read that correctly--I stapled them!
• Super simple and very secure.

Tools:  Stampin' Spritzer, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Fast Fuse, Stampin' Dimensionals 

It's All in the Details

Lots of details make this lil fella so stinking' irresistible...

hoppin' off the card

• First, there are actually 3 frogs not 1-layered using Stampin' Dimensionals to give him some "lift"
• Secondly, I used a technique that I'm calling the "Spritz & Swish" on the top 2 layers before I snipped and layered them.

"Spritz & Swish"-you're probably wondering if I've lost my ever lovin' pea pickin' mind!

I haven't. But I do love this technique.

• Simply "spritz" your watercolor paper with water-making sure it is relatively moist.
• "Swish" on some ink using your Aqua Painter.
• And then "spritz" a little more water on.
• Let dry completely
• Stamp your image and proceed
• Enjoy you one of a kind masterpiece!

I love this technique for lots of reasons but mostly because it is fun!

No 2 pieces will turn out the same-kinda like us, we are each unique and beautiful.

Garden in Bloom-Alternate

So...

This week I made not 1 but 2 cards for the Thursday Challenge.

One I loved and the other I like a lot but it was not my favorite. I decided to post the one I liked a lot because it had more of the colors that were included in the inspiration pic.

After mulling it over in my head for a couple days, I decided I should really share the card that I loved.

If you saw the card from the Thursday challenge, you may recognize that is the same but different

It's All in the Details

• If you look closely at the word "hope", you will see that there is the glimmer paper layered on top of Chocolate Chip--I did this to create a little lift and the illusion of a shadow. Adds just a little extra to the card.

I know the alternate card is very subtly different but I wanted to share it with you.

What could be better than Christmas in July?

This week's color challenge has filled my head with thoughts of Christmas and cooler temperatures.

 

I really enjoyed this week's challenge. I was able to day dream about Christmas decorations, packages under the tree and family gathered around the dinner table enjoy each other's company.  Since I do not LOVE wrapping gifts, in fact I usually try to see if I can convince someone else to do it...I thought I would try to come up with a gift wrapping idea that I do LOVE. And this was the result...
