This weeks Thursday Challenge is a Sketch Pad challenge. Below is the sketch that each of us began with.      

 

My card this week is a combination of the sketch, CASE'ing (Copy And Share Everything) from Miss Mary Fish and color inspiration from a dress I saw while dining out at a new restaurant with my husband. I have to say...I really really like this card.

DSC#174-Love is in the Air

 Time for the weekly DOstamper STARS challenge, this week it is a color challenge. Love these colors and they coordinate with so many of the Designer Series Papers that Stampin' Up! is offering this season. With the first day of Spring earlier this week, I had fresh starts and spring romance on my brain. I'm a true romantic at heart.

 

This week I combined the colors of the challenge with the new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) products (psst...SAB is ending 3/31-don't dilly dally or you will miss out of some beautiful things) and I also was able to use on of the items from the Weekly Deals. Can you figure out which one? Answer will be at the bottom of this post.

• Tip: I used two sides of the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to create interest and dimension on corners-the base and top layer are the same while the middle layer is different. 
• I did a little fussy cutting with the bicycle because I wanted to show off the fun print of the DSP behind it and I like to use my Stampin' Dimensionals to make it "pop" up.

DSC#173-Botanical Blooms

It's Thursday Challenge time.

This weeks DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge is a Home Sweet Home challenge. The challenge picture contained a plethora of inspiration as you can see below.

Where does one even begin?

• So many paths a person could take, what shall I do?

Alas, I remembered seeing a beautiful card that was created by another very talented demonstrator Dena Rekow and I thought to myself, "Self, you should give that idea a whirl". Well, mine did not turn out exactly the same but I do believe I like it and I hope you do also.

• Tip: To add a little extra oomph to the leaves I stamped them with the matching ink to create a little more visual interest and texture.
• Tip: Another way to add texture is to "pop up" some of the leaves and petals with Stampin' Dimensionals.

DSC#172-Blackberry Bliss Awesomeness

It's time for the DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge. This weeks challenge was Sketch Pad. We were given a sketch and then had to let our creative juices start flowing. Ready to begin the adventure? Hang onto your hats, here we go!

My husband has mentioned on several occasions that I've never made a card for him and unfortunately he is correct. Please don't tell him I said that "he is correct", I don't want it to go to his head!

• Tip: Instead of trimming each layer by 1/4", I created a thinner border by trimming each layer by 1/8". This gives a subtle border of Blackberry Bliss behind the Whisper White and the DSP layers.

Thursday Challenge-DSC#171-Color My World

Ah, time for another Thursday challenge-DSC#171 (DOstamper Stars Challenge).

This week was a color challenge, which is always an adventure for me because I often would not have thought to combine the selected colors.

And I most certainly would have never thought of putting these lovelies together. But after making many "samples" (four to be precise), I am head over heels in love with this one!!

Accessories: Blackberry Bliss 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon, Pearl Basic Jewels, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, 2" Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Handheld Stapler

Measurements:

•  Old Olive base-cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2"
•  Very Vanilla-cut to 4" x 5 1/4"
• Blackberry Bliss DSP-cut to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
•  Old Olive cut to 3" x 4"
• Pretty Petals DSP-cut to 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"

What the heck is the stapler used for?

• I used the stapler to attach the Blackberry Bliss 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon-it adds some texture and a little something extra. And it was easier than trying to tie a bow.
